Tahoe/Truckee Playground - Truckee Regional Park

This playground is the local hangout. There are always kids here and it is a great playground. There is a play structure for little kids and one for big kids. There are tons of big trees in the playground so a great place on a hot day. There are bathrooms here which are across the grassy area to the north (don't settle for the port-o-potty near the parking lot). More info on the rest of the Regional Park here.

Reno Playground - Canyon Creek Park

When running errands in Reno, I always try to take a break for the kids to have fun (and get there wiggles out in a good way). Last time we stopped by Canyon Creek Park (1485 Robb Dr) on our way home. But by far our favorite part was watching the buses and motorcycles on Robb Drive, which we don't see much of in Truckee and really delights my 1.5 year old!!
